Re: fair cape
i was considering doing this one race - budget permitting.
but the same old SAGRA issues are raising their ugly heads.
so, with no info, i opted to go to a hot rod gathering that weekend.

Re: fair cape
Same old problems?
Unfortunately we held back on the FC info due to the new pot holes in the road. We contacted the ppl needed to find out if the road would be fixed for the race. Fair Cape does not want to take responsibility and the municipality will only fix it when they feel it should be fixed. We don't have the budget to go fix the road ourselves and it will be a waste cause come next year it will !@#$ out again.
We've contacted Houwteq and they have been kind enough to allow us to race on the hill in such short notice.
All the relevant race info will be on the site tonight.

Re: fair cape
dude, dis 'n jammerte.

Re: fair cape
You know what hey if you got some issues and you want the scene to grow then go out there and make a diffrence...if the LUGE scene is DYING it's because you guys don't get together on weekends and go bomb.......and any race issues, you think you can do better then come to a SAGRA meeting and then contribute!

Re: fair cape
it is an open forum.
if nobody expresses their likes/dislikes, you guys would think things are going perfect!
luge scene is dying for reasons stated above.
you can go bomb a hill with a buddy, but fact is you can only take so much and push yourself so far. you are still on an open road with cars and no safety measures.
if you don't race in a safe controlled environment, it sucks and you don't get to test yourself against other guys.
to pay rip-off fees for a second category, which only luge guys run, is going to make them withdraw.
to have 1 race a year - down from 3 or 4 - doesn't cut it either.
i was on the committee. i gave loads of suggestions to rake in sponsorship and get more exposure. i spoke to another camera man/editor yesterday who is an expert in sports coverage.
yet everytime i made new suggestions or had people lined up, it fell on deaf ears.
seems like everyone is content to keep on running things the way they have always done.
